Faux Realz, Noisesmith and Protoss arrive on Stonx Music proper with Awakening and the Altar, the first time this particular trio have locked in together. You might know them from last year’s Disciples of Distortion VA, where Faux Realz and Noisesmith linked with Dark Adaptation, and Protoss held his own corner of the compilation. Now they’re sharing one. It made sense. They’re all called Dan.

Pangy, clangy, noisy and nasty. Awakening cracks it open and The Altar finishes the job. This is the sound of three people who know exactly what they’re doing and have chosen, deliberately, to make it hurt anyway.
