A Personal Dive into “Ghola / Erebos”
Creating this EP allowed me to push the boundaries of my sound and delve deeper into the drum and bass genre. Here’s a closer look at each track:
Ghola
“Ghola” was inspired by the epic world of Dune. I aimed to craft a longer, more cinematic intro, drawing inspiration from the orchestral and epic sounds of Hans Zimmer. Blending these elements with raw, aggressive reese bass, quick edits, and a big ethereal breakdown, the track becomes a fusion of cinematic grandeur and intense neurofunk energy.
Erebos
“Erebos” continues the epic feel with the use of choirs but doubles down on a darker, more intense sound. It features quick, choppy neuro-laser elements and a playful call and response between two contrasting sections. I chose “Erebos”—the personification of darkness and son of chaos—as the title because it perfectly encapsulates the erratic and powerful feel of the song.
