We had the pleasure of sitting down with Korax to discuss his journey, inspirations, and what listeners can expect from his latest tracks, “Hidden Technique” and “EX0 Suit.

Meet Korax
Stonx Music: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your musical background?
Korax: “I am really just self-taught and caught the production bug years ago with a PlayStation game. I definitely didn’t know what I was doing when I started. Over the years I dabbled in it with a dream of maybe someday releasing DnB. A few years ago I decided to take the plunge and go for it.”
Stonx Music: How does it feel to be back on Stonx Music for your debut solo release?
Korax: “I am super hyped! It has been a goal of mine for a while now to lock-in a Stonx Music release!”
About the Release
Stonx Music: What inspired you to create this release?
Korax: “I’ve always been a fan of feudal Japan and the music is so expressive and raw. I was hoping to capture that essence for ‘Hidden Technique’. As for ‘EX0 Suit’, Drum and Bass is futuristic music, and Neuro goes full blast into that science fiction feel and sound. Mecha robots media is something I love and have always felt like the two complement each other!”
Stonx Music: Can you share any challenges or highlights you experienced while working on this release?
Korax: “EX0 Suit took many iterations while I was trying to sort the balance of elements in the mix. Eventually, I got there with help and advice. It was a struggle though lol.”
Stonx Music: What was the creative process like for each of these tracks?
Korax: “I usually start with the drums to help get a groove. Next, I start making a bass patch from scratch and see if I’m feeling it or not. When it sounds like something I like, I keep building from there.”
Stonx Music: Do you have a favorite moment or aspect of either track that you’re particularly proud of?
Korax: “I am proud of the swung four on the floor bits I put in EX0 Suit. I think that added a lot of flavor. I am also proud to have played the instrumentation myself for Hidden Technique.”

“Hidden Technique” serves as a captivating fusion of Japanese instrumentation and thunderous tear-out reese basslines, showcasing Korax’s innovative approach to Neurofunk. Drawing inspiration from traditional wagakki sounds, Korax weaves intricate melodies and rhythms that transport listeners to a realm where ancient traditions meet modern experimentation. This track invites listeners on a mesmerizing journey through Korax’s musical landscape.
2. EX0 Suit
“EX0 Suit” delves deep into Korax’s fascination with Mecha robots, delivering a relentless barrage of mechanical beats and aggressive bass. From the opening bars, listeners are thrust into a futuristic battleground, where the clash of metal and machinery echoes through the scene. With its relentless energy and adrenaline-fueled intensity, “EX0 Suit” serves as a testament to Korax’s ability to evoke vivid imagery and emotion through his music.
Future Plans
Stonx Music: What’s next for you after this release?
Korax: “I plan to hit the studio and finish more tracks. I am also always learning and honing the craft of production every day. Full throttle from here!”
Stonx Music: Can we expect more solo releases from you in the future?
Korax: “Yes. I’ve definitely got some stuff in the works.”
Stonx Music: Any other projects or collaborations on the horizon that you’re excited about?
Korax: “There are a handful right now but, that is about all I can say at the moment.”

Korax: “I just want to say thanks to anyone who has listened to my stuff and the support I get! They keep me at it and fuel up to continue! Music is medicine for a lot of us and if I can share that with someone it is a true blessing.”
