Where to find Moisinn

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you got started in the world of music production?

I was at college with a good friend and we found Noisia, Spor and Evol intent . I believe the tune was “lifted” I’m not sure , and we had a pair of Sony Ericsson in ear headphones , and to maximise the volume and bass out of those badboys we removed the inner sponge from the earphones . And they were seriously the best sounding earphones ever , so we rinsed that tune on those just wondering how on earth it made us both feel the same way! So we decided to try and recreate it . Got a copy of FL studio and it was pretty much born from there , we spent late nights taking shifts on the DAW and playing games of Fifa 10 or call of duty , we went by the alias of “Thirteen37” you may still be able to find us on SC

Let’s dive right into your contribution to Disciples of Distortion Volume 2. Can you give us some insight into the creative process behind your track?

So this track came from a place where I was craving bass 🤣 hence its constant attack of bass. Once I started creating it I needed a source of an onslaught and in one of the wars there were those blimp things that rained terror down on people. One was called a zenith . So that’s where the name came from. Once that was in place , the structure made sense to progress the onslaught of bass in 3 stages 1st is a broken bass line 2nd is the constant . 3rd is constant with a 5th harmonic introduced. With a little bit of hype vocal included to add to the madness

I would say, network . Make friends , and you will do it if you are hungry

MOISINN

What inspired you while working on this specific piece of music?

Pretty much the above covers it really. I imagined myself in the middle of ministry of sound in London with the bad ass soundsystem. I usually do this, imagine myself in a club, and imagine being like deep into listening to an amazing set . And then the tune I’m working on gets dropped in there

Are there any unique elements or techniques you used in your track that you’d like to share with your listeners?

The main thing in this was to use an aggressive sidechain, so the kick and the bass merge as one and you don’t feel like you really get a break in the bass onslaught

Who are some of your biggest musical influences, and how have they shaped your sound?

Hmm, tough one, I think it would be ever changing to be fair. A big influence is actually other genres really. Reasons behind why tunes make me feel a certain way. And try to recreate that

Are there any artists or genres that you draw inspiration from but might not be immediately apparent in your music?

I draw from hip hop for vibe check a little bit. And rock for the tops and progression I guess

Can you share a particularly challenging moment you’ve encountered in your music production journey and how you overcame it?

I don’t think I have overcame it yet . But my struggle is making a piece of music make musical sense . Like progress, I always struggle with that

How do you feel you’ve evolved as an artist since your earlier work, and what lessons have you learned along the way?

The big lesson I have learned, is not to over complicate processing , 100%

The music community is often a source of inspiration and support. How has being a part of the Stonx Music community and collaborating with other artists influenced your work?

I have learned so much from my peers , and they also give me the drive to carry on… its a lonely world as a producer if you don’t have great peers around you

Are there any fellow artists you’d like to give a shoutout to for their contributions or influence on your music?

Shout out to the STONX boys as always , their welcoming nature has attracted a wonderful bunch. And big shout out to my pal FENTEX

Neurofunk is known for its distinctive sound. How do you approach experimenting with and pushing the boundaries of the genre in your music?

I find neurofunk has no bounds . Go for whatever . But I am trying to keep the funk!

Are there any other musical genres or styles you’re interested in exploring in the future?

I will be exploring hardstyle , and some lofi I think

What would you consider to be a significant highlight in your music career so far?

Meeting so many like-minded people has been a journey and highlight in itself. I thought it was just me and my friend at college

Looking ahead, what are your goals and aspirations as an artist? Are there any dream collaborations or projects you’re working on?

Collaboration wise . I really just want to collaborate with many artists . But especially visual artist who have their own vision to what my music makes them see and feel

What advice would you offer to up-and-coming producers who aspire to make their mark in the music industry?

I would say, network . Make friends , and you will do it if you are hungry

Are there any production tips or resources you wish you had known about when you were starting out?

I wish I’d have known about patreon to be honest . It’s great to see how my fave producers do things

When you’re not making music, how do you like to spend your free time?

Hmm. Around running a plastering business . Music is my free time haha

Can you share a fun or quirky fact about yourself that your fans might not know?

I actually would love to learn how to sing !

Is there anything else you’d like to share with your fans and listeners about your music, upcoming projects, or your journey as an artist?

I just thank anyone for the support and the opportunity to be where I am ! Big ups to you all, huge special thanks to Dapz. Compound audio. I would have stopped a long time ago if it wasn’t for him
